In 1988, Ginny Lefever’s husband died from an acute drug overdose. Ginny, an RN, was convicted of aggravated murder and sentenced to life in prison. Her conviction was vacated and she was released after 22 years on November 22, 2010 when the toxicologist was found to have lied about his credentials in her and other cases. Ginny earned a bachelor of science in nursing with a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from The Ohio State University in 2013. She is currently enrolled in a master of nursing program at South University and will be credentialed as a Family/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She volunteers for several mentoring and nonprofit organizations and is a board member of the Life After Justice project.
