Chantá Parker is the Special Counsel for New Initiatives at the Innocence Project. Previously, she was a Supervising Attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice of the Legal Aid Society’s Brooklyn office. Prior to joining the Legal Aid Society, Chantá was a staff attorney with the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem and a felony trial attorney with the Orleans Public Defenders. Chantá holds a BA from Spelman College and a JD from the New York University School of Law. Chantá serves on the board of the Essie Justice Group, a loving community of women with incarcerated loved ones based in the California Bay Area. Chantá also serves as a trainer, mentor, and speaker for Gideon’s Promise.
