Amanda Carling

Amanda Carling is a M├ętis (Indigenous) lawyer, Adjunct Faculty and the Manager, Indigenous Initiatives, at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. In the latter role, she assists the Faculty in their responses to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action. She completed her articles with Innocence Canada (formerly the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Convicted or AIDWYC), launched and ran their education initiatives with a focus on public legal education in Indigenous communities. Amanda was a member of the Debwewin Jury Review Committee responsible for implementing recommendations about First Nations representation on juries in Ontario and is the Chair of the Board at Aboriginal Legal Services in Toronto.
